BRANDON FAGIN started his racing career in the street
stock division at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville,
IN at 15 years old driving his fathers car.
Brandon's father, Paul Fagin, was tearing up the dirt
tracks in central and southern Indiana during the 80's
with his team "Rabbit Run Racing". After Brandon
got in the car during the summer of 1987, Paul never
drove again. It was the torch being passed
to a new generation. Brandon drove the steet stock
for several years at track such as Lincoln Park
Speedway, Bloomington Speedway, Bloomington, IN.,
Paragon Speedway, Paragon, IN., Tri-State Speedway, ,Haubstaut,
IN. and The Terre Haute Action Track. In 1992, Brandon
drove the Fagin Motorsports Monte Carlo in select events
with the Automobile Racing Club of America, ARCA, with a
best finish of 17th at Winchester. But, he gained
a lot of experience with the likes of Kenny Schrader,
Jeremy Mayfield, and Tim Steele.
In the years from 1993 to 1996, Brandon participated
in the Classic Race Car Series gaining a lot of
different track experience all over the eastern half of
the United States.
In 1997, Brandon drove in two different series, the
new American Race Truck Series and the Classic Race Car
Series. He finished third in the national point in
the Truck Series and sixth in the National Classic Car
Points. He won a National Points Race in the
Classic Car at the now defunct 16th Street Speedway in
Indianapolis, IN.
In 1998 and 1999, Brandon drove a tough schedule
competing in three different truck series. The
American Race Truck Series, Championship Auto Racing
Super Truck Series, and the NAMARS Truck Series.
Competition took place all over the United States from
Irwindale, CA. to South Boston, VA. and from St.
Augustine, FL. to Windsor, Canada. He finished the
season being in the top ten in two out of three of these
series.
In 2000, Brandon competed in the Championship Auto
Racing Super Truck Series in the Midwest. Fagin
Motorsports also purchased a Championship Auto Racing
Limited Late Model and raced at our home track,
Indianapolis Raceway Park.
2001 saw Brandon in a unique situation, he
worked with General Motors and Michigan State University
on a R@D program for crate
engines in the old ASA Series. Brandon was
guaranteed a starting spot in all the ASA Races but
could not win any. In fact, he would be pulled
into the pits with three laps to go. We found out
after the year that he was given less horsepower and
torque than anyone else had. The good thing about
the program was that he got to make a lot of laps with
very good competition and it was completely free to the
team. He worked with graduate engineering students
from Michigan State University.
In 2002, Brandon finished fifth in the points of the
Championship Auto Racing Series.
2003 to 2006, he raced occasionally with the newly
named Indy United Racing League.
In 2007, Fagin Motorsports obtained sponsorship with
the United State Army and competed in the newly named
Advanced Racing Associtation and the Championship Racing
Association Sportsman Division.. The team
purchased a Show Car and toured with the Super Bowl
Winning Indianapolis Colts "Make it Personal Tour".
In 2008, Brandon again raced in the Advanced Racing
Association but stepped up the program to race with the
Championship Racing Association Super Late Model
Division for six races. His goal in this series
was to just get seat time. The series is billed as
"The Worlds Fastest Stock Cars". and he did very well
with 13th being his best finish in the six races.
The highlight of the year was competing in the
prestigious Winchester 400 which was won by David Streme
and Kyle Bush in second.
