The US Army/Fagin Motorsports team competed July 26 in the prestigious Redbud 300 late model race at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IN.  We had a rough time getting up to speed for the all important qualifying session and qualified 31 out of a field of 32.  Brandon had to run the last chance race which was 15 laps of all out racing.  He started in the last row of the field of 12 cars and finished in 5th spot.  Since they were only taking 2 cars out of the last chance race, we were sure we didn't make the starting field which included Kyle Busch, Ken Schrader and Bill Elliot's son Chase.  As soon as Brandon got back to the trailer, a CRA Official came up and said we had been added to the race as the promoters option. We were elated!

The Redbud 300 is one of the biggest short track late model races in the country and the stands were packed.  Brandon started in the last starting spot of 27th.  The car was running flawlessly and he was turning laps faster than what we qualified.  By our pit stop, he was in 19 and running good laps.  At about lap 285 Brandon was up to 10th or 11th spot and still running strong.  Since the car was running better on a light load of fuel, at the pit stop we decided to add just 7 gallons.  Note:  we should have added 8 gallons as Brandon ran out with 3 laps to go.  We still finished in the 13th spot and was very happy as a huge step was made after our poor qualification effort.

Next up is the annual Labor Day Classic Late Model Race at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, IN.

First time out in 2010 for the US Army team was last Sat. night at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IN. The race was the Great Deals Magazine 125 for the CRA Supercar Series.  We struggled all evening with brakes but managed a 19th place finish and no damage to the race car.  Brandon had very little practice and we qualified in 26th starting spot.  There was a nice crowd at the event even though the temperature was in the 50's.  We did figure out we have an awsome power plant with our new CRD motor.  If we can get all of our ducks lined up, Brandon should have some good runs this year.  We also welcome some new crew members this year and the team has high hopes for the crew.  Our crew cheif, Bryon Shaffer is also happy to have some knowledgeable help.

Next up is the Winchester 100 at the lightning fast high bank half mile track in Winchester, IN. on May 16th (rescheduled due to weather).  We are going a day early to get some needed practice time.

The season is over for the US Army Chevrolet.  We finished 9th in the owners points and Brandon won the "Cometic Gasket Hard Charger Award" for the season.  This means that in the entire CRA racing season, Brandon passed, for position, more cars than anyone else in the series.  He is very proud of this accomplishment considering the competition was the best short track drivers in the country.
To bring you up to date on the last few races of the season.  Berlin, MI. was a disaster for us and we couldn't get the car to turn in the corners but, we did finish for 20th place.  When we left the track that night, it was 32 degrees and we had ice on everything.  We were just glad to leave because it was miserable.
On to the world famous, fastest half mile track in the country, Winchester Speedway for the Winchester 400.  Brandon qualified in 32nd spot in the field of 36 starters.  Our game plan was just to survive and go the whole distance.  All was going by plan when the engine lost power on lap 93 and we finished in 27th position. It was a great race with Kyle Busch winning the Winchester Shotgun.
As of this writing, we are still not sure how the 2010 season will work out for us.  The US Army has been fantastic for us and will continue in a limitied capacity next year.  We are talking with some other potential primary sponsors for next year but, nothing has materialized yet.  As you are probably aware, racing at this level is a very expensive proposition and we can't do it without help, so we will see what happens.
We will keep you advised of our sponsor progress on this website.  Thanks for visiting

It was a capacity crowd on hand for the World Stock Car Festival over Labor Day weekend at "The Worlds Fastest 1/2 Mile" , Winchester Speedway.  The Fagin Motorsports, US ARMY Chevrolet finished 14th after starting in 24th spot with many of the worlds best short track drivers in attendance.  Brandon qualified and practiced on Sunday and he raced on Monday.  Brandon is leading the Hard Charger Award category, third in the rookie of the year points, and the team is tenth in the Owners Points standings.  One of his goals was met in this  race as he finished on the lead lap and completed all 100 laps.  Please feel free to click over to the official US Army website after reading our news category and we would love to hear from you at our official email address fagin@ccrtc.com.
Next on our schedule is the SCS Environmental 100 at Baer Field Speedway in Ft. Wayne, IN. on September 19.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Scott Eggman who unexpectedly passed away on Labor Day.  Scott helped us on occasion with our CRA Super Car setups and was a wizard at it.  He was an avid race fan and spent a lot of time reading about race cars and racing in general.  "Race on Scott".

The US Army/Fagin Motorsports Team ventured to the south a week ago for the Budweiser All American 150 at the Nashville, TN. fair grounds track.  We started off pretty good and had to run the last chance race to determine the final starting order for the big 150 race.  There were 41 entries for the 32 car field.  Brandon started the last chance race in 15th position and finished 7th which normally would have sent us home.  But we had earned enough owner points for a starting spot in the feature race.
In the Bud 150, we started in 28th spot but on lap 106, we noticed a puff of smoke again and didn't want to hurt another engine so Brandon wisely shut it off and coasted into the pits.  Our day was over and officially finished 22nd.  Still picked up hard charger points and more owner points so all was not wasted.  Kyle Busch finished in 21st
Brandon is back in lead of the hard charger points for the year and we are 10th for the year in the owner points.
Our next race is the Stock Car Weekend at Winchester, IN.  for a 100 lap event at the historic half mile.  It will go off on Labor Day with practice and qualifying on Sunday before.
We have big hopes for this race as we purchased a new quick change rear end and have our engine builder checking over our motor.  We hope the new rear end will find the elusive 3/4 second off the pole that we always seen to miss.

After having a good first half of the CRA Super Car Racing Series, the US Army/Fagin Motorsports team has ran into a streak of bad luck.  First was the pull all the way to Grand Rapids, MI. for a cancellation because of rain.  That's about 13 hours of hauler road time.  Then, last Friday night, the team attempted to compete in a 100 lap race at Toledo, OH.  We lost our engine in practice.  To make the best of a bad situation, we were loaned a car from AP Motorsports out of Windsor, Ontario so at least we could make the starting points.  Brandon was very carful of their car and only made 2 laps at the start of the race and came to the pits so there would be NO CHANCE of any damage to their car.

Next up is at Nashville, TN. next Sunday.  We will have to get busy this week to replace yet another engine.

The US Army/Fagin Motorsports team competed in the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IN. on July 27th.  The car ran good until about lap 150 when Brandon noticed the oil temp started rising.  He ran until about lap 250 when the engine started to smoke slightly and his evening was done.  Diagnosis was a burnt piston.  The engine was taken back to McGunegill Engines to be repaired.  In the meantime, they also loaned us another engine to use for the Radisson Hotel 125 on August 8th at Berlin Raceway in Grand Rapids, MI.  As far as the Redbud 300, it was won by NASCAR superstar Kyle Busch.  Brandon finished in 19th place and is continuing to lead the Hard-charger category for the CRA Supercar Series.  The team is also in 10th place in the series.  Brandon stated "before the engine went south, the car was just as fast as almost anybody".

It's been a big month for the US Army/Fagin Motorsports team.  Finished the Angola race without any damage to the car. It was a tough night as the car was very tight all night long and Brandon could not seem to get the handle on it but the crew with crew chief Bob Dumpke working on it all night, we at least got it raceable before the race was over. We came out of the race with Brandon leading the rookie of the year points and the team in 8th for the overall points.
Then came Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, IN. on Sunday, July 12th.  Brandon started the race in 23rd spot in a field of 30 cars. We did well until about lap 75 of the 200 lap event. Brandon dove underneath a car for position and either he slid up the track or the other car came down on him but, either way, we sustained extensive front end damage that caused Brandon to come into the pits for repairs and put him 6 laps down. He finished the race but 4 of his rookie of the year competitors finished ahead of him dropping him to 3rd in the rookie points and putting the team in 10th of the overall points.
Next up is the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IN.  NASCAR super star Kyle Busch has filed an entry so the stands should be packed. The car is ready and Brandon is ready so we all hope we have a good night. The race is the night after the Brickyard so many of the fans and racers will probably be there.

Salem, Indiana June 27th, 2009
The US Army-Fagin Motorsports team took to the high banks at Salem Speedway Saturday night for the Touchtone Energy 100.  Driver Brandon Fagin finished in 9th spot after some spectacular driving and a lot of luck.
Starting the second practice sessions with a very bad handling race car. Co-crew chief’s for this race Donnie Renke and Bryon Shaffer made just the right adjustments for qualifying. Fagin put the US Army-Budget Motors Chevrolet in the field in19th starting spot.
After missing a huge wreck on the first lap, Fagin said “The car just kept coming in the longer I ran. The car was very good on old tires”.  By the end of the race, Fagin was turning laps at about the same times as the leaders.
Due to a little luck and a well prepared race car, the US Army/Fagin Motorsports team has completed about 95% of the laps this year which is real good for a new team.  Driver Brandon Fagin has moved to within four points of the lead in the K & N Rookie of the Year standings.
After the great top ten finish the US Army/Fagin Motorsports team moved into 10th in the current Championship Racing Association series standings. Next up, is the EMF Corp.125 at the Angola Motor Speedway in Angola, Indiana located in northeast Indiana on Saturday night July 4th.

Anderson Speedway-April 11, 2009
Brandon Fagin and the US Army/Fagin Motorsports team competed in the first CRA race of the year at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IN. Brandon qualified 20th out of the 26 car field. After starting the feature race outside row 10, he cut a tire on the first lap resulting in losing 3 laps while in the pits.  At that point he just concentrated on finishing the race and collecting as many rookie of the year points as possible. He finished the race in 16th spot and with an undamaged car.  "The new engine program and car set up was absolutely awesome", stated Brandon. The US Army/Fagin Motorsports team is looking forward to the next 100 lap event at the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, IN this Sunday April 19th.
